Tunze 3155 Automatic Top Off

Hello,
I installed my new Tunze 3155 Automatic Top Off in sump (with the fill going into the overflow in the DT) and it has been working great, however, at the connection between the unit and the power cable there is corrosion building up and it's starting to short out. I've been able to get it to work by twisting the power cable, but even that is starting to not work. I purchased is on 10/11/2014 and installed it 3 days later. FYI, it's never gotten wet and it's mounted to the side wall of the cabinet and is not subject to splashing where it is located.

Please advise.....

Thanks,
Hollie

Hang in there. Roger is super responsive and typically on this forum M-F. Looks like you posted at the end of the business day on Friday, and are expecting an update by Saturday. {:-|

I suspect since your unit is just a month old and under warranty, it won't be a problem for you to send to him in TX for repair with a quick note. Roger will be back to you soon I'm sure. Have a great weekend in the meantime!

Hollie,

What I usually see cause this is that the power supply tip landed in salt water, if it does it is ruined almost instantly as the combination of DC current and salt reverses the plating, strips it and it rapidly corrodes. I don't know how corrosion could occur outside of some exposure to salt water. The bottom one shows typical corrosion from getting dipped in saltwater
