Tunze 3155 issue

Hey guys,

I've set up my Tunze 3155 ATO about two weeks ago and up until yesterday it worked fine, now when the water level drops below where it should be the pump kicks on and pumps water in for about 3 seconds then the water flow slowly goes to nothing with the pump still humming as it's on, it would sit like this forever if I don't shut it off, why would the flow start strong then linger off into nothing?

It should turn off the pump after 10 minutes as a safety so it would not stay that way forever. I suspect the pump is faulty so the impeller is no longer turning, it slips. If you can email me the invoice we can get you set up to replace the pump- Tunze at sbcglobal dot net

So I got a new pump, it works great, however, when I attach the water hose to it, for some reason it doesn't pump, and I know the hose isn't clogged

Do you have the white adapter nipple installed on the pump? If the tubing is inserted too far which generally could only be done with the wrong size tubing or by omitting the adapter, the hose will rub against the impeller and stop it.

It comes with the pump, it is the white tube that is on the pump output, the hose inserts into this piece.

Yeah I have that piece that's built on to the pump, I usually just place the hose inside this, should I place the hose on the outside of the white tube?

Check the hose for any kinks and try blowing through it, you might also open the controller and turn up the pump speed (red knob on lower right of circuit board) if you are pumping more than 6ft. I would also try tipping the pump upside down when it is submerged, it may have air trapped inside it so it cannot prime with the hose on.

Just to confirm the adapter is there (someone else called and they were missing the adapter after some back and forth)-
