Tunze 5017 sensor problem

Hello,

I've has this unit for about 2 years and it's been great up until a couple weeks ago. It doesn't seem to sense a low water level, I've tried turning off and on and it will run for a few seconds and then won't turn back on unless I turn off and on again. From my research I think I have a bad sensor and will need to send it in for repair. Just wondering if this is the best option. Thanks in advance!

I would first try soaking the optic sensor in vinegar for 2 hours, sometimes the only issue is some mineral film. If that does not solve it send it in with a note that has your return address and phone number.

I have the same problem. Also tried vinegar and warm soapy water. Nothing from the sensor, but controller says water is at desired level. High water float works fine. Anything else I can try to avoid a send in?

If the soak did not solve it, the only way to repair it is to unsolder the old optic sensor and install a new one, it would need to be sent in.
