Roger,

Can you tell me how many watts it takes to power the 6000? Everytime I plug it in, my powerstrip starts to beep.

Thanks

If you are about 1/10th of a watt away from overload yes. Could also be just a faulty power strip or some artifact of the polarization circuitry.

So I tried a little test - I unplugged everything from the power strip and plugged in the Tunze. The power strip still buzzed. Is there a fuse in the Tunze Driver that I can change?

No. It is a low voltage appliance and I would suspect that the magnetic field prodouced by the transformer is causing the problem just use a different outlet.

Roger,

I took the unit from inside the stand today and plugged it into a seperate receptacle. The transformer started the high-pitch buzzing sound, not the power strip. Have any idea why the transformer would be making that noise?

Thanks

I found this at the Tunze site:

Failure: The pump has seized, and the driver of the Turbelle electronic sounds a continous tone.

Cause: The drive unit or the impeller has jammed due to wear, lime or snail housing, for example.

Remedy: Remove the foreign body. Clean the pump, and replace the drive unit, if and when necessary. The pump will start operating again automatically after a delay of 20 seconds.

I'll look at it in the morning. I don't think its due to wear since I've only had the unit 3 months.

There was a small snail shell caught in the impeller. I removed it and the unit works fine.
