Tunze 6000 Swivel

Roger,

My friend and I are new Tunze 6000 owners just installed them this past week.
Our compliments on the controller and it's programability. The powerheads are very efficent and put out a nice wide stream giving far superior flow compared to anything else we've tried.

However, our problems began with placement of the power heads. My buddies tank is a 100 gal Tenecor Bow Front. We found that the magnetic holders and the swivel mounts did not provide enough adjustability for his layout. We actually designed two Acrylic holders and mounted your slide bracket to it and it seems to be working.

My situation is slightly different. I have a 150 gal glass tank viewable from two sides. My live rock is positioned in the center and runs longways in the tank. Again when I mount the powerheads on the sides of the tank I cannot rotate the units enough to avoid blowing directly into the rock structure. I find I have to mount the units closer to the front of the tank to compensate. When I do this I am getting less coverage from the power head.

I guess what I am saying is we are slightly dissapointed in the adjustability of these rather expensive (but worth every penny) power heads. On our wish list is some sort of modified bracket which would allow for yet more adjustability.

Thanks for your attention

In the next development cycle the brackets will probably be looked at for redesign.

Roger,

Thanks for the quick response. I hope these brackets will be able to fit to our 6000's and available real soon. As I find I have to re-install additional power heads to compensate for a few dead areas.

Thanks

I think it will likely be at least a year before we have anything new in regards to the holders.
