Tunze 6060 no controller circulation

I am planning a 72"Lx 30"Wx24"H FOWLR tank. But, I want to plan for eventually going reef. There will probably be a 1/2"-1" sand bed. I am looking for input as to how appropriate it would be to just put a 6060 on each end of the tank(2 6060's) pointed toward each other. I would likely have a sump which would return 4x hrly to start and in the future another 4x for a total 8x turnover hrly. What would be the impact of sand movement? Would this be too caotic or just right? Would it really matter if I didn't get the controller and just let the Tunzes go 24 hrs a day with the exception of feeding time? Thank you for your advice!

Just understand that the 6060 can never be upgraded to be controllable so they are what they are. For a FOWLR they would be great, you could probably even go to the 6080. The 6060 and controllable 6000 cover a 4ft by 2ft area. The 6080 covers 5-6ft by 2ft and the 6100 which is also controllable 6-7ft by 2ft. If you really intend to go to reef someday the 6100's would be the better investment.
