Tunze 6060

Can the Tunze 6060 be run on a Red Sea Wavemaker? If not, why?

Let me give it a try. According from what i know about tunze stream pump, 6060 and 6080 series motor are not designed for on and off operation, it only have one setting which is max flow at all time. You still can run it with the RS wavemaker but it will shorten the life of your pump. I think Roger have better explanation.

The damage from wavemakers is obvious and will void the warranty. Since unlike an impeller pump a prop pump can only spin one way and work the pump has a brake mechanism that stops a backward rotation and this will be shredded by the on and off of a wavemaker. Eventualy the prop will stop turning, the pump will overheat and be destroyed.
