Does anyone know what the beeping from the 7240 driver box means? I took the pump apart an cleaned it, but while it works, it still beeps loudly.

Any help is appreciated - thanks

It means that the pump is jammed, worn excessively or broken. Please double check the prop assembly, the most common cause is the upper bearing is stuck to the magnetic rotor. There is a thread at the top of this forum and your manual as well will have more detail. Do not run the pump in this condition, you can destroy it.

Try checking the upper bearing and center hole as shown in the thread, if that doesn't fix it, you can send it in.

I have one of the newer one-piece drive assemblies, and as far as I can tell there isn't much to clean. The prop comes off, but that's it. The drive assembly seems a bit loose when assembled (side to side play), and the interior cavity feels a bit rough to touch. I'm soaking it in vinegar in case there's enough build-up to cause a problem. I don't see any on the drive magnet, but I'll see if this helps. The unit is about three months old, but has been cleaned twice because if Kalkwasser mishaps, which I no longer use.

You still have the upper bearing part with the new drive unit, if it is stuck to the magnet or the hole in the center of the magnet is plugged you can have an alarm.

I guess I just can't see it. I see the magnet, and just above that is a flexible tapered piece that seems to be one with the shaft the prop slips onto. Are you saying that this flexible piece above the magnet will come off and there is a bearing inside? I can't make it budge, so if that's the case, it's stuck really well.

Look in your manual or on tunze.com for part 3000.610, it sits at the bottom of the hole, the magnet assembly spins on it, a red oring, part 3000.612 is underneath it.
