Quick question, how wide is the flow and distance on a 6105? With and without the wide flow kit?

Stock housing 2" outlet and 24V, the flow will reach 7ft and spread to about 2ft.

Wide flow, 2.5" outlet and 24V the flow will reach to 5ft and spread to almost 3ft.

Tunze PROTECTIVE GRATIN

Where can i get these PROTECTIVE GRATING for my tunze 6105 for wide flow kit? The one that comes with the wide flow are so fragile and thin compare to regular 2" nozzle. They break easily. Do I really need them?

The only purpose is to keep critters out, if you have no small fish, snails or hermits, you don't need them. They are thin and fragile so they obstruct the flow as little as possible and a couple broken grids is not something I would worry about, so long as they keep the animals out of the pumps. It is part 6205.200, you can order them on Tunze.com.

Hello Rodger, I have a 8ftx2x32"t (mixed reef) and I would like illuminate some power heads. Right now I have 4 6095 (on the back glass) and 2 6105 (on each side). I would like to sell all and get only 2 6255 (one on each side). Would this be enough?

It would be, however, my personal preference would be 4 6105. I like more pumps because a failure of one is not an emergency. I also feel it gives more range to direct flow from 4 sources and the smaller pumps run cooler and calcium does not build up as quickly, the 6255 need cleaning every couple months.

It essentially has the reach of a 6105 with the narrow flow housing with the width of the wide flow housing. About 7ft by 3ft.
