Hi, My Tunze 6201 just started clicking today, and is getting more frequent, whats up or can I send it in for service - if so need address.

Hi Roger, I checked and it was doing this when also running continually. For some weird reason, the prop seemed to stop or it was a visual effect and also clicked then. I have it set at lowest and about 60% for high. But to answer your question, it as doing this while running.

I have it out right now and giving it vinegar, prop and everything seems to be fine, but have noticed that top "bearing in motor block seems like it is needing replacement. Rubber o-ring is also somewhat stretched out.

Hi, I cleaned it in vinegar last night and put in a test tank, no clicking so it goes back into tank this morning. I have only owned this for 2 months, so just getting used to it. I drip a lot of Kalkwasser and am putting in my new Korillin C1502 Ca reactor next week. The Tinze 6201 is great flow for the tank, had a Tunze 6065 before and kalk did not seem to bother it and rarely had to clean it. Thanks.

On the older pumps the spaces between parts were tighter and since the 6201 uses 4 times as much power as a 6065, it runs hotter and will lock up faster. As a general rule, if Ca and KH is below 420 and 12, you can clean every 6 months, if it is higher, it should be done every 3 months.
