Tunze 9001

Hi there Roger. As i said in other posts i gould not resist and bought the 9001 for my Quarantine tank. After the initial period of producing microbubbles it settled down and it is much better. There is however, something that's been nagging me: the attachment for the magnet in the skimmer always had a bit of play, and the skimmer sags a litle. It is not a lot, but it does mean that the skimmer is permanently leaning forward a litle. I understand this is not a big issue but it is annoying. Should i ask for a new magnet holder or is this normal?

The most probable cause is the mounting posts on the body, you could try with the magnet still attached, inserting a small screwdriver in the splits of the locking tabs which hold the body to the magnet and spreading them to hold securely, if it is just compressed this would solve it, if they are cracked or damaged though, the part you need is the skimmer body, 9001.100.

Thanks Roger! Not sure I want to risk breaking the mount and be skimmer less for a couple of weeks... Maybe I will just keep being annoyed that it is leaning forward, assuming that this does not affect its effectiveness.

It is not ideal and the body really should be covered under warranty.

Thanks. Unfortunately as I needed it in my Quarantine system I did not mention it at the store when I bought it a while ago. And I also do not want to go skimmerless while the store sends it back to the factory so I guess I will just stick it until I order the body part.

Hmm, it should not be that complicated, usually a photo of the issue and receipt will suffice to get the part.
