Tunze 9002 Nano skimmer

Hi Roger,

I just received the 9002 Nano skimmer from Marine Depot and put in my tank and there is no bubbles, it this normal? I take it apart and found the pump working properly.

I got it working by pull it out of water while it is on and have to do that every time I unplug it. Another issue is it will stop forming bubble once I removed the collection cup. I think I may have a defective unit, should I get it replace from Marine Depot or go through you?

when you remove the cup on the 9002, you are removing alot of the reaction area, so the bubble spread out and it looks like it's not producing
Mine does the same, but works GREAT when the cups in

Just give it time. Mine took a while to setup and get it going and I complained a lot. Now I cant be happier. It works like a charm.

Today is the fourth day and it does the same every time I restart it or remove the cup. I truly believe I have a defective one.

How deep do you have it submerged? My guess is you have it too deep and when you remove the cup water enters the air intake and cuts off the air flow. Likely your pump is working but you are not getting any air flow until you raise it. Ideally you keep the water level 1/2" below the marked line.

I have it right at the marked line. The main issue is every time I restart the skimmer, I have to move the skimmer out of the water or the is no bubbles.

I just check the skimmer and removing the cup does not affect the skimmer at all now. I still have the restart issues (no bubble after restart the pump). PM going you way for venturi replacement.
