tunze 9002

I have a tunze reefpack 200 and the skimmer is causing stray voltage in the tank. I have checked the terminals and wiring and they all seem fine, when the skimmer is plugged in and I touch the water I get a shock. When I unplug the skimmer it is fine.

Send us the pump and we will replace it under warranty, assuming it is less than 2years old.

Include a note decribing the problem.

The problem actually went away after I left the skimmer unplugged for a couple days, not really sure how that happened...

I have another question though, the magnet that comes with the reefpack 200 doesn't really line up with the holes on the filter and skimmer so they have to be kind of at an angle to be attached to the magnet, would it be possible to retrofit the individual magnets that come on the regular tunze 9002s?

Also I've had the skimmer running for a few weeks now and it either produces nothing or overflows randomly, is this normal for a break in period?

The 9002 does need a fairly constant water level to perform consistently and ideally that would be about a 1/2" below the marked line. It should be broken in by now. Also do any adjustments in very small increments waiting a day between adjustments- 1/8 turn max per day. You can use the 6025.50 magnets, in fact that is what they come with now.

Thanks, the skimmer seems to be working a lot better over the last few days, I think it just needed to break in. It's producing a tea colored skimmate pretty regularly now.
