Tunze 9420 pump

I have an old skimmer 9420, I would like to put an electronic pump, a stronger pump, could use a hydrofoamer 9430 .044 tunze

It is difficult to say, my suspicion is the 9430DC will be too strong as even on the 9430 the the pump runs at a low speed, it might work but it would be trial and error to cut the pipe down and find the right height and there is a risk of a lot of bubbles exiting the skimmer. The 9410 DC pump at full power might work. Based on the specs a 9410 DC has about 90% of the power of a 9420, the 9430 DC has 75% more power. I think really the best path is leave it like it is or get a new 9430DC skimmer. The new skimmers have better baffling to prevent bubbles from exiting.

I would like to change the pump because if the skimmer 9420 can use 2 pumps it becomes 9440 I thought I could use the pump 9430

This would not be impossible, but it will not be a easy solution, you will need to custom make the stand pipe by taking the tall stand pipe of 9420 and cutting it little by little to get the correct performance, the pipe will be a size between 9420 pipe and 9440 pipe, but very close to 9440 pipe.
