I'm interested in buying one of Tunze Stream powerheads. However, I'm less interested in buying a controller for it. Can I use my exsting AquaController as the wave maker controller?

Thanks!

If you will buy not controllable Tunze Stream powerheads models 6060, 6080 than you can use your existing AquaController with simple controll ON-OFF.

I suggest you to buy controllable Tunze Stream powerheads models 6000, 6100. You will need Tunze controller , if you want to use all functions supported by this magnificant pumps.

Pumps 6000 and 6100 support speed control (flow control) from 30 % up to 100 %, so you need analog outputs to controll such pump. Additionaly analog output have to compatible with TUNZE driver unit. It is possible to DIY such adapter, but on the other hand TUNZE controller is not so expensive .

Keep in mind with the 6060 and 6080 you can only turn them off and on once per hour. Otherwise bojan is correct the AquaController cannot control the speeds or any other functions.

Keep in mind also that it is not wise idea to stop Stream Pump at all , because small fish can enter inside pump and after pump is switched on, fish will be damaged.

Acctually it is also possible to use Aquarium controllers together with TUNZE Singlecontroller or Multicontroller.

I connected relay contacts of my aquarium controller to the connector used for photo-electric cell.
With such connection I can controll (program) with Aquarium controller
Waves (day mode) and No waves (night mode)

7094.05 (not supplied) is connected up to the socket, the automatic operation in night mode can be activated.
