I was looking at a few different options becuase I don't like 2 powerheads blowing at each other ith just a giant stream. Even if I cut down the nozzle, I'm still going to have an issue.

I was looking at the tunze 6060 and the 6000. What is the difference?

Is there other similar pumps out there that are not so expensive but are similar. I know I'm sure most of you all swear by tunze or seio but just not really an option right now.

The thing I like the most is the magnet hanger because a bracket wouldn't work becauase my canopy sits too tight.

maxijet,seio,tunze,icecap

but in your tank i would use a

tunze 6000 with controller
seio 1100
ice cap
or even a few 900 maxijets

its not the amount of power heads its about random flow in the tank trying to eliminate dead spots

Tunze 6000 can be put on a controller (but not a must) to give it a pulse like motion. Also either on a magnet or bracket it can be rotated. The 6060 cannot be controlled.

The IceCap vortech cannot do either but it puts out good flow, but not as good as a tunze.

Seio are smaller then tunze but are good and would work well for you.

Is there any "not so name brand" ones that are similar.

I was having a hard time even finding one by icecap but I finally found a thing about the IceCap Vortech and it was showing like $350 Gulp...

Is the controller part on the 6000 vs. the 6060 the only difference?

The 6000 is a little more versitle then the 6060, you can upgrade a 6000 to a 6100 with a transformer change.

You can put mutiple 6000 and 6100 on a 7094 or 7095 controller.

Holy smokes! I could hire someone to sit on top of my tank with a paddle for 2 of the IceCap Vortechs!

Just to make sure, I can't drive it or anything like that??? :D

it moves the water in a very broad slowish pattern. me likey!
i don't have it in there yet, i need to cover the intake so as not to chop up my fish.
