Tunze Feedback + Osmo Pump Question

First, I'd like to comment that Tunze service here is awesome, a shaft on the nano stream broke and I sent it to Roger for repairs, before i know it it wasback up and running. Thanks for the great service, you have officially made me a Tunze customer for life with this service, even if I pay slightly more for Tunze products, I know that someone is standing behind the product.

Second, I have a quick question. My osmolator pump is now soudning very loud, like a grinding noise and the water is not coming out at the normal water pressure that it used to. It is in freshwater (not kalk). (a) Is this something I can fix? (b) Is it going to work okay?. Should I assume the worst and immediately get a new one as a backup?

You might tap it and see if you here any debris inside the impeller chamber, if so, try shaking it until it comes out. The pump is extremely simple just a DC hobby motor (like you would buy at Radio Shack for a science fair project) inside a plastic housing and the shaft extends through a dual oring seal and drives an impeller. If the pump is a couple years old, I would go ahead and buy a new one. They usually last about 2 years. I know the one I have at home occasionally gets louder and then quiets down.
