Tunze has to be unplugged/plugged back in to work?

So I'm new to ATO's, and Tunze in general. I have had one Tunze osmolator nano 3152 running for a week now with no problems. Then I noticed this morning my water level was down and the the Tunze wasn't topping off. I unplugged it and plugged it back in then it preceded to start pumping in the water to the desired level. Then just now I went to check on it and the water level was low again, did the same thing with unplugging it and it started to work again. i have observed the ATO working properly on multiple occasions, so i know it works for a while then this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

4 month old product, have the order number from amazon, but bought used on ebay.

i have a 3155. I believe tunze ATO automatically stops topping off after 10 min until you reset it or cycle the power. it's a protective measure i believe to prevent accidentally topping off too much at once.

The 3152 has a safety timer that turns the controller off at a preset time, out of the box this is 1.8 minutes, enough for up to 25 gallons, it can be adjusted to 3 minutes, enough for up to about 55 gallons. This is covered on page 22-29 of the manual. The safety exists to prevent a flood if the float were to ever fail and it is only reset by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

So just to make sure I understand.... The ATO was running for over a minute, which causes it to shut itself down to prevent a flood? And the only way to get the ATO to start up again is to unplug it and plug it back in? Could be the issue. However, I haven't noticed extreme high levels of water from the ATO running constantly.(except for the first day which was a problem of mine from a siphon). So could this still be the issue? I'll keep an eye on it, and if there is anything else it could be I'd love to hear from either of you or anyone else :)

Yes, after 1.8 minutes it turns itself off and has to be reset, if your tank is bigger than 25 gallons you need to open the controller and change this timing to 3 minutes as shown in the manual.

Well thank you for your help sir.

Well thank you for your help sir.

No problems yet since I unplugged/plugged it back in. Hoping this was the issue!

To be clear the timer only counts continuous runtime, so if for example you removed some water and one time it needed to run for more than 1.8 minutes it would shut down until it is reset, if it filled for 1.5 minutes and the float switched it off, the timer is reset to 0 again. Anything bigger than 25 gallons you generally need to increase the timer to 3 minutes.

Maybe, 3 minutes is for 25-55 gallons total volume, 1.8 is for 5-25. If the tank is bigger than 55, it may not work and we definetely do not recommend it.
