ok so heres the deal.im about to get 2 tunze 6000 pumps with a 7094 multicontroller from a trade and i was wondering what the best way to set these up in my 180 was to get the best current.i have been told that they can make a wave like pulse and i think thats what i would like.i have mostly softies in my tank and dont want them getting beaten up too badly.should i install one on either side of the tank pointed towards the center or what.i know there are plenty of people on here that praise the tunze set ups and how great they are so please give me your info on how i should position them as well as the controller how i should set that up as this is my first controller and i am clueless as to how it works.thanks in advance

jason...oh heres a pic of my setup so you can get a better idea of where i should install them.

You have two options

1. Place your each tunze at the rear corner, point it 45 degree angle toward the front panel and set it on Interval II, each pump will be on separate terminal. As you look at your controller, you should see 4 holes that you can connect the pump to. The first two from left to right is 1a and 1b and the 2nd set of holes is 2a and 2b. Above it there is a series of white knob (should be 4 :D). The top white knob turn it clockwise till it stop, the bottom knob turn it counter clockwise . Your pump should be running between 30%-100%. If you want more turbulence flow, set it on pulse and two pump will operate at the same time.

2. Place the pump at rear corner, one shooting across the back and 1 point at 45 degrees angel and set your controller on pulse mod.

IMO, 2 tunze 6000 will not beat up the corals. If you need more flow, you can upgrade the transformer to 6100.

Thanks

wow thanks for the info.yea i knew i could upgrade the transformers but i dont think i will do that until i buy a bigger tank as i had the maxi jet 1200's with mods and they just blew current all over the place.i just cant understand how people can put all these powerheads in their tanks without messing up the sand bed or corals.its amazing.

Most people keep SPS they need high flow, some has a very SSB and some go BB. I don't know if you use epoxy to glue your corals down but most of the folks here attach their frags to the rock so they won't get blow all over the place.
