I have a chance to purchase one of these need a little feedback on how it works and its performance.

otherwise I will let it go, I finally found it on the Tunze site and it looks like with the sump pump It retails for about 150.00 my question was. does it work with another dosing pump and how did the sump pump work, Air, or is it connected inline with another dosing pump

thanks

Rick

It only works with the osmolator 3155. It sits in the reservoir and when the osmolator triggers a fill it mixes a kalkwasser solution through a tangental injection from the pump of the osmolator. It is part 5074, yes, we still make them.

It is a light weight kalkwasser mixing system. We do not see kalkwasser being a sufficient calcium supplement, the purpose is to add the benefits of kalkwasser to an existing calcium reactor system or serve low demand tanks. It holds as much as 6 teaspoons of kalkwasser. Seeing as kalkwasser can only be mixed to saturation, short of making a slurry, I think it works about as well as any of them. Use kalk to offset pH depression and absorb CO2 from your reactor and precipitate the phosphates but it isn't likely going to cut it on its own.
