Tunze Magnet Owners

Run to HD or Lowe's and buy yourself a nylon screw and bolt to go to secure the teethed pieces from moving. Or, like I posted above, use cable ties to add the pressure needed. Mine have been secured like this for more than a year with no problem. Before, they wouldn't stay straight for more than 24 hours without moving on their own.

Thanks for the tips. For the time being I have a small piece of pvc cable tied between the magnet and pump. It works but it's quite ugly. I think I'll try just the ties, it's got to be better.

You have them hanging from the magnets right? Some folks have mounted them upside down - the pump sitting on top of the mounting piece instead of hanging down from it.

yes they are hanging. The bracket on the pump has a loop on it, this loop slips over the post on the mounting bracket that slides onto the magnets. The writing on the pumps are acutally upside down when mounted. Is this correct?

The most common problem I find with customers is simply the little teeth are not engaged, they are all made the same so its usually set up.

The problem I've observed firsthand with 6100s on a controller is that they create turbulence when the switch on/off, and bounce a bit in the water. The swing arm eventually lifts just enough on the mounting peg that the teeth are no longer touching, and the pump rotates.

I've had a 6100 on a magnet and a controller going 100% to 30% for 2+ years and the only time it has ever moved is when I take it out to clean it.

I have 4 x 6100 running on original brackets and magnet mix since release with no problem, but you could try using the screw used with the 6200 maybe its a particular configuration or position that is causing the problem as jeffbrig mentioned.

jeffbrig hit the nail right on the head. This is exactly what is happening. I guess it's hit or miss for different people's setups. I'll try the screw.

I just used the screw with the small rectangular peice, that came with the pumps for use with the brackets, as a nut. Works great.
