Tunze Magnets

I can appreciate product advertisement but aesthetically speaking is it really necessary to place your bright blue label on both sides of the magnet. I just got mine today and against my black coralline encrusted background it really stands out :(

It is a legal requirement, sorry but rare earth magnets are hazardous and must be labeled as such.

Two sets of magnet holders?

Two sets of magnet holders?

I just received my Tunze 9010 and 6080.50 magnet holder. I notice that the 9010 can accomodate two magnet holders. Do 9010 users who use a magnet holder normally use two sets of magnets?

No, you just need one, I had requested this change in design to accomodate a lower mounted holder as it enabled the mag holders to be use on the Reefpack where the upper mount makes magnetic interference with the Osmolator, this also made mounting possible in other difficult situations.

I'm getting the impression you have a lot of "pull" with the folks at Tunze in Germany. :)

I am one of the main product designers, unlike Axel and Claude I am not an engineer, just a tinkerer, I tend to fine tune things and I developed the basic concept of the 7095, the Stream Rock, the Nano Filter, Nano Reefpack, Reefpack 500 and Compact Kit 16 and the Magnet Holders, the CO2 Reactor. I have a fair amount of influence but I lose out often too. I have developed lots of duds too. Claude and Axel and Norbert when he was alive definitely have much better ideas and their technical/engineering backgrounds give them a better ability. Claude and Norbert made the Wavebox and Claude and Axel developed the Stream. Often my ideas are really far fetched or crude and they flesh them out or scrap them. The magnet holder, as simple as it sounds took a long time to make work. I came up with the idea looking for something to help US customers who had difficulty with the rails on US trimmed tanks. Anything we develop, I test for performance on 115V/60Hz before it is released. I also try to proofread all manuals but often I don't get to correct it until the 2nd or 3rd revision due to time issues and how long it takes to get them published. FWIW, the idea for the nipples on the bottom is partly owed to Brian at Fins Reef who took it on himself to glue them on units he sold for just this reason.

Lower Magnet on Tunze 9010

Lower Magnet on Tunze 9010

I want to attach a Tunze 6080.50 magnet holder to the lower portion of the Tunze 9010 skimmer. Unfortunately, the two magnet attachment nipples found on the upper portion of the skimmer are missing from the lower portion. Instead there is only one nipple for a suction cup.

Any ideas for attaching the lower magnet?
Thanks!

Only in the last batch did they start adding the lower nipples, I can send you a couple at no charge but you will need a good plastic cement to attach them we do sell the glue we use at the factory in a 4oz tube, it runs about $8.
