Tunze Metering pump maximum amps

I bought a Tunze metering pump and I see that it takes 9-12v dc output. I have a power adapter that I found around that house that I no longer use that has an output of 12 v dc 1500mA. I saw a suggestion earlier stating to use 1200mA. Is 1500mA output ok or is this too much for the pump? I will be using the metering pump standalone (ie. wiring the power supply directly to the pump).
