TUNZE multicontroller really necessary...?

i currently use 1 tunze 6000 on a single controller. i'm ordering another 6000 this week. not sure if i should get the multicontroller or just get the branch adapter for like $15 and run both streams off the single controller. sure the MC is better, turns them on/off different times and all that, but is it really that good to justify $250...? the only thing i don't like about the 2 streams on a single controller is that each pump will do same thing at same time. is it a big deal, i don't know...what do u guys think?

corn u can control flow without any controller...on the transformer. on dial on single controller too...
i know it's nice to have but is it REALLY worth it...i mean we KNOW everything in this hobby isn't really worth the prices, but what i'm trying to get at is, is it that great that i'm gonna say WOW, glad i bought it...?

not necessary. But it would be nice to have cuz it came with many different wave pattern and many other function I.E moonlight, night mode, interval 1 and 2. High and low tide.

FWIW the multicontroller does not have a "random" function. 2 6000s on different single controllers [if you get another single controller] would sometimes be with each other, and sometimes be out of sync with each other... creating more random waves.

you can't turn any of the pumps "off" with the single controllers or synch them for tide/ synced waves like the multi can....

the multi is worth it.. maybe watch ebay for one?

spend the money instead on a neptune aqua controller junior...you can control them that way, plus lights, ph probe, temp probe, etc...

i run my 2 6025's 15 minutes on/off back and forth...

The multicontroller is really nice. It has all sorts of different modes. If you wanted to go budget, I'd get another single controller instead of the branch adapter. Like matt posted, set them differently so you can still get more random flow.

this is nothing close to what the multicontroller can do ive seen two tunze streams on a multicontroller create a better wavew than the wavebox

the JR does not control the tunze in it's pulsing form , only on off motion.. and that is risking getting animals stuck up.

Normal Multicontroller operation [when pumps are off] does a very small pulse every 15 seconds or so that keeps animals out, without killing them. Leaving off for 15 minutes risks starting the baldes of death full force with animals in there.

BTW> what does the tunze form say abotu aquacontroller tunzes?

Or, you can use interval 2 which never shuts the pumps off. One side is @ 30% while the other side pulses whatever you want such as 30% - 100%. You can adjust the min and max pulse power, the interval between min and max, and the interval between pump1 and pump2.

Interval 2 is 1 of the 4 modes available.

Little better than on/off every 20 min.

I'm not aware of that function for the multicontroller (7095). Interval 2 idles the "off" pump at 30%, but I think interval 1 or sequence simply have the "off" pumps off. Maybe I just missed it when reading the manual. From what I understand, the fishcare feature on some of the streams is that it alarms at startup and doesn't whack things with full force, or maybe it shuts down if there is a motor standstill. I could be wrong though -- I just use interval 2 so I haven't really looked into it.
