Tunze Multicontroller

I just purchased a T24 kit (contains 2 x 6100 Streams and a Multicontroller). I am trying to run the streams in a high tide/low tide configuration with the two streams on opposite sides of the tank. This way, one stream would run while the other is silent. When I do this using the instructions in the Tunze manual, the pump in the second channel will be off when the first pump is running, but the "off" pump will turn on for a brief, very short spike (usually only 1 second or less) on a regular inverval (usually about every 1-2 minutes). Is this a feature or is there some electronic noise or defect with the controller. I would think that when the pump is supposed to be off, it would not have this brief spike in activity. I am concerned this will damage the pump.

Is there a way to program the pumps so that the pumps will alternate? So that one will be on for a period, turn off an the second will turn on?

I have a hunch you're seeing the new design feature, which is intended to keep curious fish away from the impellor during 'down' times.

As Dave said this is called "fishcare" and is to prevent animals from entering the pumps.

Use Tide mode, you plug one pump into the first socket and one into the last, the interval light will come on and you set an interval of 1min-12hrs, and this will alternate which pump is running.
