Tunze Nano 6045

Do you think a Tunze Nano 6045 will be too much for a 29gal? Also, can these be used on a controller? On/off? Thanks!

I have 1 on a 15g and love it.......no they will not work on a controller they need to run at least 15mins before turning off

I have two 6045s and a 6025 in my 37 gallon tank BB tank and it's just the right amount of flow. What type of corals are you going to keep?

I would start out with one and if you don't think you have enough flow than add another one. Are you going BB or a TSB?

TSB.

I would just start out with one and work from there. Are you going to have a return pump?

Could I get a controller that would turn one off and on every say 30 minutes to an hour then?

They run fine on a SEIO controller. It won't shut them off completely though. If I were you, I would just pick up a 6025 and mod the front cover.

Thats what I did, just ordered it from PA about 3 hours ago. I was planning on getting the Reef Keeper 2 and having 1 run all the time and a second one run every 30 minutes to an hour. Can I do that with the RK2?

I run my 4 6025's on 1 seio controller (no problems since they don't pull even half of what it's rated for power wise). I also have an RKII, but I don't run them on it since it's wavemaker completely shuts off power to the PH's. The SEIO controller is similar to a Tunze controller since it reduces the power to the PH but doesn't shut it off completely. Every time I restart my Tunzes after feeding or loss of power, I have to put my kent scrapper in front of at least 2 of them to get them going in the right direction again. I've tried to let them run for awhile to see if they would correct themselves, but they don't. I've had them run in reverse for a day after a power outage.
