I have a Tunze 6060 in my 90g and no matter how i set this thing it kicks up my DSB..Its really starting to bug the %^& out of me...I was thinking since I cant us a controller with this model...What are the chances of using a dimmer switch rigged to an outlet..just to slow the flow down just a tad?? Has anyone tried this before? and do you know if this would effect the Tunze?..
Thanks

It won't work, a dimmer controls power, a synchronous motors speed is controlled by the Hz. Once you get below 90V it won't run at all and the motor will overheat. What mount are you using?

Im using the stock mount..not the magnet..only because i have it in the back corner and i need it angled slightly..well glad I posted before i tried...
Thanks

There was a suggestion made of possibly using another shroud from one of the larger pumps to give a wider flow..would this work? are the shrouds interchangeable??

That would work but a wider flow might actually disturb the sand more. I would honestly just place a small plastic shim wedge behind the rail to slightly angle the flow upwards, a few degrees will likely solve the problem. You could also carefully file a mm or 2 off the blades but you should use calipers and make sure that each blade is the same size. Each mm is about 200gph of flow so don't get carried away.

Thanks..I am going to try the shim...I dont know why i didnt think of that!! thanks for all you help..
