Tunze Osmolator Hose Connection

How does the water supply hose connect to the pump? It seems that I am missing something, because I have been having difficulty. The instructions say to push the hose on to the pump connection to the stop. I have been trying to get the hose to go over the connection, but inside diameter of hose is smaller than the outside diameter of the connection. I have tried putting hose in boiling water to allow for some stretch, but so far I have not been successful.

Is the hose supposed to be pushed inside the connection rather than over? It would seem that would work better, but it will not go far in.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the hose pushes inside, it does not need to go in far, the best way to do this is to cut the hose at an angle so you have a sharp tip to get it started. Then push and twist to get it in, a bit of spit or glycerin will help.
