Tunze rec for 75 mixed reef

Hello,

I have a mixed reef, no sps.

Have a kora 2 on the side of the overflow, pointed to center of front glass.
a Kora 3 in the opposite back corner, pointed again to center of front glass.

Looking to upgrade to 6055 for variable flow.

Any recs on where to place and if I can use just one 6055 and on/off another pump in opposite corner?

I would use them roughly the same way, except with the controller it would be best to have the pump aimed past the center so it hits the front about 3ft away, you could slowly upgrade one pump at a time.

Any one place one on center back and just blow on front center glass and use that with on/off cycles on back corners to vary flow?

It is best to try to get a rolling current, such a set up loses a lot of flow and tends to stir up the sand, it can be used that way in very wide tanks.

the tunze 6055 is so much quieter than vortech!!!

It just isn't the most efficient, the only reason to use it is on a tank that is maybe 4ft by 3ft, otherwise on a diagonal pattern covers more area.

any recs on setting up a 7091 controller with a single 6055 on 75 gallon?

The best option for one pump would be diagonally from a back corner to the front about 3ft away and just pulse from 30-100% every few seconds. For a 75 be sure you have the transformer set to 24V.
