Tunze skimmer 9011 - what difference?

Hello,

Heard about new generation of tunze doc skimmers.

As I can see, only difference is new hydrofoamer pump. Wanted to ask what is main advantage of this new pump ? I think it should be much more effective if Tunze even released new series only because of it.

The other difference is they will now come with magnet holders.

The new pump eliminates the brake shoes, the drive unit is simpler and because the brakes are gone and it now uses an electronic start the pump will be quieter and has less parts to break down. The production of this pump is just starting so the new skimmers won't be available for at least another month.

Thank You. I am using the new pump now, it is really even more silent. But as this skimmer is designed for 1100l aquarium (+100 to compare with old version) thats mean the effectiveness of new pump is also a little better?

Only because there is less drag and the impeller is a fraction of a mm bigger because less power is needed to start it, freeing more power to move the impeller. It is a very small difference in performance.
