TUNZE Skimmers

I have a 160G mixed tank with half SPS, 1/3 LPS and the rest softs. There is also another 50G of water in the sump and refugium. I am looking to upgrade my current skimmers and was looking at your 9015, 9020, and 9420 skimmers. Which do you recommend? Could I use a 9420 for my size tank? How do these skimmers compare to the ATI Bubble Master 200 which is the other skimmer I am considering? I also see that everyone's sold out of your 9420. Any idea when supply gets better?

My experience with the bubblemaster is that it is a fantastic skimmer if you are willing to constantly monitor and tweak it. If this is the case, then the BM is your best bet, nothing aside from a bubbleking can compete with it.

If, on the other hand, you want more of a care-free skimmer then i would go with the tunze.

Pauper,

Sizing skimmers is very difficult as stocking levels vary so much from aquarium to aquarium all the models you mentioned could work on a 160 US gallon aquarium it really depends on the stocking density as Lt. Hotpants mentioned the 9420 would perform best as it is the largest in your list. A bonus with the 9420 skimmer and its its larger versions are the simple plug and play when installed.

Graeme
