I have a tunze 6080 that is over 10+ years ,It served it time well. What now ?
Can it be fixed or is it time to get a new tunze? If so which one.

We can certainly try to fix it, you may well just need a new 6080.600 drive unit, especially if it still hums or vibrates when plugged in.

The 6085 is the current equivalent.

Thanks, what is a drive unit? What would be my first step?

Yep, replace the drive unit. Did this for one of my 6080 back in Feb. Now my other one just started pulsing today, so sending an order in to Roger! I see that you can now get a good deal on the drive and propeller, 6100.700 and it is even cheaper together :)

6100.700 is only appropriate for a 6000 or 6100, the 6060 and 6080 must use 6080.600 and the appropriate prop (6060.120 or 6080.120). These pumps require the brake shoes to stop a backward rotation and a backward rotation can lead to the pumps overheating.
