Was wondering what peoples opinions where on the tunze stream kit TS21.2 1850 GPH pumps w/ 7095 controller??? I would be using it on a 120g tank. Think it would be to nuch flow? And also are they overated especially for the price??

Thanks!!

considering they retain a lot of their value I think they are worth it. used ones usually sell for close to 75% of retail cost, which tells me they are worth it.

They are 100% worth the money, I would not trade mine for anything else, they are the best pumps I have every had. Great pump that comes with great support

Definitely not overrated. They are a little bulky, but I really don't notice mine when looking at the tank. I think the TS21 kit would be good for a standard 120.

IMPHO no they are not overated. A lot of water movement with low electricity use.

Steven Pro did a chart not that long ago that shows a number of PH's, initial cost and electrical cost. The streams are a better value because of the low energy use.

You might want to wait because Tunze is coming out with the Nano streams which look awsome. Go to there website and click on the interzoo 2006 PDF . There coming out with three sizes all pumping over 1000gph. They are cheaper than the standard streams . Nice and small and they come with the magnet. That being said I sprung early and recently purchased the Vortech. Its great and moves a ton of water.

They are the best pumps around but IMO they are not worth the money involved.

Completely agree. Great pumps, but not worth $300 for a powerhead, when I can get the same effect for <$40.

Someone mentioned the Vortechs.

At this point, their controller is still vaporware (like the SEIOS), they need their bearings replaced every 6 months or so, and have no long term track record, so if you're gonna throw down the cash, do it on the tunzes, and not the vortec.

Make that all but 1 (660gph)

What kind of price are we talking about? I see nothing in the pdf about pricing.

They are 100% worth it. I plan on buying another 6060 and two of the nanostreams. (6045) Maybe when I get a job I'll replace the 6060s with a pair of 6000 on a muilt-controller. :D If everything goes right, I should have a wavebox by next summer.

Price of nanostreams:

6025: $61.84
6045: $96.63
6055.000 $202.93

From the Tunze forum:

6025-$61.84
6045-$96.63
6055-$202.93

2 6055s and a controller is all I want for Xmas santa! The 6025 and 6045 will be out the end of Sept, the 6055 by Xmas. Only the 6055 is controllable.

Aquariumspecialty is taking deposits for all 3 sizes. The 6045 is supposed to be out in sept. The 6055(which I want is not avail till dec.).

Xtrangx: Yes the 6055 is the only controllable one but there all the same in size which is awsome. Lot smaller than the regular streams and price pretty good.
