Tunze Streams?

Anybody using Tunze Streams in their aquariums? If so how do you like them and do they provide good flow?

I am setting up and a 240 gallon Fish only tank and the flow out of the sump is pretty weak. I am thinking about one or two Tunze Streams to kick up the flow inside the display.

A side question, anyone know a general thumb rule for how much feet of pressure head a check valve adds to a system when added to the return side of a pump in the sump? I added one to my plumbing for my 240 and the flow went way down.

Thanks!

Kevin

They are definitly top of the line and have a ton of flow, but not really necessary for a fish only. You may look into a couple seio 2600 or so. They are suppose to push 2600gph and you could get 2 for the price of a noncontrollable tunze. Just my 2 cents of course, but for a reef they are definitly the best way to go to control and concentrate flow...

Thanks! I will check those out. Do you know if they have a magnet mounting option? Suction cups aren't very good and I don't have a edge to hang it off of as my tank has a top over most of it with only three openings on the top for access to the tank.

Thats what we have. In our reef (175 bow) we have 2 6100's with the controller and it does wonderful. In the FOWLR tank has the seio 2600 and it does great in there.

I don't think they make the magnet hoders, but I know you could always retro one to either a tunze, or a mag float. Also I have read that they are coming out with a controller for the seios...

Kevin,

I have enjoyed the flow that our two 6100's on a controller do. We also run a wave box. If your willing to put out the cash for the tunzes you can't go wrong. JMO

No prob glad I could help. I personally think those would be more than sufficient for FO. Keep us posted on progress.
