Tunze Ts 24 Kit

Anyone else having any problems with this Tunze kit?? I bought mine about 9 months ago, the newer model (6101) but have had a bit of bother with them.

A couple of months ago, one pump went where is was working on and off intermittently, kinda like jerking at low levels when it should have been on full power. My LFS replaced this no problem, then just back from holiday on Sunday and the other pump has broken altogether with no power coming out of it at all. I have just received my replacement tonight and guess what....yes you guessed it...its broken - worked for a few minutes and now nothing! Not a happy chap to say the least I have the Tunze Stream rocks so its a complete nitemare to get the pumps in and out... Anyone else experienced anything similar?

That is a very odd case when you have 2-3 tunze pumps break down in couple months period. What setting are you putting the pump on. Where did you place the pump? Anything may restrict the intake of the pump and cause it to run dry?

one of the pumps is on the left hand side at the buttom..the other is near the top on the right....i keep the controler on squence 1 for 20sec or so pair side...both are in stream rocks.

So the pumps on either interval 1 or sequential mode which mean it will be on/off. How often do you clean the pump?

The pump on the left hand side at the bottom. Do you have a sandbed?

I am not very familiar with the stream deco rock but make sure it doesn't restrict the water and may cause the pump to run dry.

Make sure the connection part of the pump to the controller and transformer are not getting moist because it doesn't seal very well.

We had some problems with the internal electronics from last winter. The construction wasn't perfect, most are fine but because we didn't have a spacer sometimes the board was too close to the coil, the coil could get hot if the pump was fouled with lime and come in contact with the board or crack the board when it expanded. Send in the pump to your distributor or Tunze Germany and it will be replaced.
