Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6045

One of them will not be enough for your tank. 2 or 3 would be better. What do you currently have right now? As to where to place the powerhead, it is very hard to answer that questions. It depends on many factor such as rock placement, sandbed, type of corals. Basically you have to play around with the placement to get a good flow.

I have a marineland power head located towards the bottom of the tank blowing just above the sand which was suggested by a LFS. I only have lace rock currently in the tank along with 1 zoa coral and 1 bubble tip (still alot of work to do but as I get more money the tank is going to grow).

Looking to also get rid of the marineland power head because it is extremely unappealing. Also I see the new gyre came out, anyone have any experience with it yet?

Couple of big threads on the gyre so far. Good but loud seems to be the consensus to date but very early days still. Trying one 6045 (or any one pump in fact) will likely have you struggling with dead spots... Couple of 6095s would be a sweet although expensive option.

Thanks rsaha i'll take a look at those posts, for placement purposes should the powerheads be located on the side of the tank or towards the middle? low/high?
