Hello--I have just received my new Wavebox and installed it. It seems to be doing a real nice job.
I was just wondering what your opinion is about running these 24/7 or should it be shut down at night. Everyones opinion is welcome.--Jerry

I have mine on a timer, it shuts down for about 8 hours a night, but I also have power heads in the tank that run 24/7

Hello--You run the PH at the same time as the wavebox? Does that not take away from the motion of the box. How do you have them directed?--Jerry

You need powerheads on 24/7 and this is the 1st time I hear about a wavebox being turned off on a schedule.

The wavebox is suposed to add flow to your powerheads. Having just a wavebox is not enough flow.

Hello--Sorry I was under the impression that the wavebox replaced the PH. I have my wavebox on the right side of the aquarium(if your facing it) pushing towards the left side. Now how would I aim the PH. I have 4 that I did run in the tank. 2 #4 Koralia and 2 6045 Tunze.
I thought running Ph at the same time would hinder the wave action.---Jerry

That's funny that this is the first time you have heard of the wavebox being turned off on a schedule...it comes with a photo sensor so that it turns on and off with your lights. But instead of using the photo sensor I have it on a timer so that it is on longer than my lights are.

Yes I run them at the same time and no it doesn't take away from the wave motion. The wave in my tank is the same with or without the power heads, it is about a 2 inch wave, it moves a great amount of water within the tank but does not aggiate the surafce, so I have 3 supplemental power heads that I have positioned to creat ripples on the surface, plus the return from my sump of course
