I have a TurboFlotor 1000 and the air intake keeps clogging with salt. Any one else have this problem? Anyone have a potential solution? It is a PITA to remove the skimmer from my sump just to clean out the inlet.

I use the "can of air" that is often used to clean computer keyboards and such. Just make sure you keep the can right-side-up otherwise it turns into a liquid. The air seems to clean the clog rather well.

Seems to work?

I feel your pain.

I've never had that happen, just been lucky I guess.

Second thought, do you run it in tank or external?

Mine works great, but I also have the skimmer dumping into a filterbox filled with filterfloss and really I have no splash so there's little to no salt creep

get a cup of DI water and dip the air inlet in till it suck out all. I used to do it 1 a month to keep the air hose clean.

Thanks guys. Its not the air hose, its the inlet on the skimmer body that the air hose connects to. It clogs about once a month. I have tried hot DI water, but I think I have been waiting to long before doing it. I will try it about once a week.
