Turning purple shrooms blue?

Every mushroom I have seen in person that was labeled as blue looked like some variation of purple to me. Is there a lighting combo or method to turn purple mushroom blue? Can you buy real blue mushrooms?

How long have you had them and what lighting?

I never see them that bright blue in the stores. Maybe I will try mail order.

about a year under 250w 20k MH

i honestly dont remember where we got them... i think my wife found a single shriveled polyp in the back corner of the LFS tank and got lucky

Ahhh...maybe I need more intense lighting. I am using 130 watts of PC (10K and Actinic) over 24" x 8.5" surface area. Mushrooms are about 8" below the surface.

I have some mushrooms that look blue under 20k halides but purple under pcs and 10k's, some of them it is just lighting but true blues are out there, I like the blue tongan rhodactis but don't have any yet.

the angle you look at them makes a big difference too. if you look down on them they will have a lot more of a blue color. most pics where they're really blue are taken from above.

you may have better luck looking them up as blue tongan mushroom
