I am trying to get some photos of my tank with my nikon d70. I know I must adjust the white balance to deal with my blue lighting. I have been playing around with little success. Does anyone have any suggestions of about where to start the white balance and or best way to adjust until it is optimal?

Manually set it

First choose pre on the menu under white balance then you will be able to set it manually

Next to the LCD screen on the back you will see a button with a key\? on it above it it says WB press this button till you see "pre" flashing in the eye peice.
Then point it in the tank at something white and press the button as if you were taking a picture.
If you got a good reading then it will read "good" in in the eye peice if not it will read "No Gd" and you need to try again

I've heard of people setting their white balance manually as stated above; however an ordinarry white coffee filter is placed over the lens while the white balance is being adjusted.
