hi, I have a 120 that after that should after this weekend have a hippo tang in it from a guy who has it in a 55 atm. When I was at school today I saw a reef aquarium that I had no idea they had there. It was a 90gal, and inside it there were two hippo tangs. I am quite shocked/sad that someone would try to put two of these in there. I am wondering if I should talk to them and see if they will let me rescue on of them. Do you think two hippos in a 120 will be too much? Only other fish in there are a foxface and a spotted mandarin. Thanks

The Hippo Tang needs atleast a 70 gallon tank, having two in a 120 would work until they or one starts to get large. They can reach a foot in size, I wouldnt see a problem with having tow for the time being, but once one reaches its ful size I would eitherget a bigger tank or give one away, or sell it.

i wouldn't go with 2 simply because of size problems like blown 346 said. you could get 2 tangs of different types. like the classic combo of a hippo tang and a yellow tang. unless you have a very large tank, it's best to mix tangs of different shapes and species
