Hello All,

I have had these two individual colonies for over a year now but before that they were in a colleagues tank for the previous 3-4 years growing out from 1" frags.

Any ID's would be great since I really haven't much knowledge for identifying acros beyond calling them an acro.

Anyways any suggestions would be fantastic thanks.

Patrick

Maybe Acropora latistella for the first, the extended tubular axial tips in the middle of the colony are throwing me off tho. Is it getting a lot of water flow?

And possibly Acropora vermiculata for the second, also having doubt because A. vermiculata will have "Radial corallites are arranged in a neat rosette and are scale-like." And yours do not appear to be so. But A. vermiculata is my best guess for now.

Hello Frick,

Colony 1 - has a Tunze 6100 in fast pulse mode from max to min every 5 seconds alternating. The pump is likely 18" - 24" away from the colony.

In regards to high flow it is receiving significantly more flow than it did in its previous home where is was more of a lagoonal setup.

Let me know if I should reduce the flow around it. I have noted the right side of the colony where it receives direct blunt of flow its growing extremely tight branches likely in response to the high flow.

Thank you for the ID's though....I really appreciate it.

Patrick
