two jawfish in one tank

how big would a tank have to be to allow for two jawfish with separate territories? What's the usual square footage for one? Or are they line of sight fish that will seek out the others to run them away?

Somebody recently posted a video of a tank with a colony of jawfish in it. Not sure what size the tank was... but it looked awesome!

Do you have a cover on your tank?

I agree +1 for the two feet apart. I have had two diffreent species succesfully in a 75 gallon, and have had three in a 6ft 150 gallon.

I currently have a BSJ and a Varigated Jawfish that are sharing the same grouping of burrows. Have never had this before in 10 years, but for whatever reason they appear to like one another / tolearte each other.

i had a 55 gallon tank that had five yellow head jawfish in it and it was a blast especialy during feeding time . when one would go after a mysis shrimp the others would steal his rubble or shells that he used for the entrance of hos burrow and it would go on and on like that until the food was gone . they all did great as far as aggression was concerned but i sold them to my lfs as my wife wanted different fish in her tank that would not be compatible .

Good to know it's not impossible. I've got a pearly in my 40 breeder and was hoping to be able to get a blue spot when I transfer everything into my new 120.

As far as a cover, I've got a canopy on the tank with egg crate between the water and the lights.

My female bsjf got along great with a pearly until my male bsjf starting flashing and that was it. I moved the pj to a 29 with another pj. I have a pair of pearlys from Ken in a 40 by themselves

okay forrestcook but i hope you know the bluespot is one of the more difficult ones there are . the yellow heads seem to survive much better but the bluespot are usually very excitable and often succumb to stress or carpet surfing so make sure its covered very well .
