two nems too close?

I had one nem floating around my tank now for a couple weeks. Won't attach to anything for more then a couple days. Added a second nem with two clowns that attached and hasn't moved once. Now the mover has decided to attach right next to the non-mover. Do I need to move one or what will happen long term?

They will sting each other. One will eventually win out and the other will move or die. Different species nems cannot happily coexist that close to each other.

You can tell by the left side of the right one that it is getting stung -- I would move the condy ASAP, the other one is already stressed/bleached and doesn't need another issue.

Thanks, shortly after I posted I got the condy moved. He isn't bleached, just the way the camera shows him. Aactually has a little pink to green color. The other, a Malu I believe, is doing fine it seems now too.

Actually, the right-hand specimen is indeed bleached, as it would be some shade of brown if it were a fully healthy individual. Treat it with good care, observe, and feed if it will accept it at this point.

There is actually quite a bit of brown in his tentacles. Once again, the camera doesn't pic it up. My only concern about it is the base. Possibly bleached at some point and dyed :( Seems to be doing quite well ever since I got it though. Actually looks to have grown since I added to my tank.

How transparent is the nem? In your pictures it appears to bequite transparent - that is bad, and a sign of bleaching. Furthermore, Condy's are known wanderers (though I do not have first-hand knowledge of this), and from time-to-time they can up and move for no apparent reason. Finally, some people on here have had problems keeping two different species of nems in the same tank. Others have had success also, so I tell you this just so you are aware that the health of one may be linked to the other. Keep an eye on them.

I agree in the pic is looks transparent, but in the tank it is more of a light brown to a green tip. Some think it is a condy, and sometimes I tend to agree, but others think it is a LTA. I lean more towards condy when it floats around, but when my black and whites where hosted by it I started to think LTA. It used to be in one spot for quite a while, then one day just decided to get up and move. Now it has been in one spot for about a day and half now, but we'll see tomorrow.
