Two pistol shrimp in one burrow

I had a yasha goby paired with his tiger pistol in a 12G nano, along with a beautiful tangaroa goby. The yasha is fine with the other goby and doesn't harass him, but the pistol wouldn't accept him into the burrow and kept snapping at him. Poor tangaroa spent all day hopping up and down outside the burrow waiting for an invitation...

So I yesterday, I got the tangaroa his own shrimp. It was much bigger than the original pistol, and the only thing I worried about was that the shrimp might quarrel in such a small tank. Instead, I got up this morning and the tangaroa was still ostracized, but both the shrimp were sharing the burrow together with the yasha. Has anyone had two pistol shrimp share a burrow before? Any successful spawning stories? Should I find the tangaroa a new home?

Had two pistols before but no spawning. Have had mated gobies as well, no babies. Never seen a pistol that didin't let a watchman in before, I'd find him a new home.
Yashas great for a 12g. I'm stuck between a yasha and a high fin banded for my 12. I have spent 2 months waiting for the right one.

It's normal for mated pairs of live to live together in a burrow along with a pair of gobies. Occasionally gobies of different species will live together but it does depend on the shrimp accepting them. Your Tangaroa may be out of luck. Also, in the wild, Tangaroas prefer to associate with fine-striped shrimp, Alpheus ochrostriatus.

Thank you, Leslie. I will do my best to locate the appropriate shrimp, and move the Tangaroa to his own tank.
