Two prs in one tank?

I saw a guy with a half dozen pairs in a 720 tank that was 8x4x3. He was a little crazy mind you, but he had an anemone for each pair.

I have a similar question.

I've had 4 ocellarius in a 180 (6 ft long) since they were tiny.
Now, 4 years later, 2 are paired up and lay eggs regularly. 2 others are still much smaller and have recently began hosting a new anemone 5 feet away from the mated pair.

Now that the other two have a home of their own, any chance they will grow larger or better yet become male and female and pair up?

It really depends on the individual fish. I have 2 pairs in my 190g and they are getting along just fine. They each have their own nem too.

iamwhatiam52: Yes there is a good chance for them to become sexed. It sounds like they are pairing off.

I agree it depends on the fish so will always be a gamble, I have pair of black ocellaris and a pair of percs in a 55 with no separation just a tile at either end, they some times mix but mainly spend time at opposite ends of the tank. They are both tank raised pairs, I think this makes a difference. The percs spawn every two weeks in full view of the black ocellaris, so i figure they are happy enough.

I would have to agree being tank raised helps in this regard. Mine are also Black O and Perc but its my Black O's that spawn.
