my biocube has been setup for a little over a month and im having this algae issue.i have some blue legged hermits, snails and a purple firefish. is this some sort of hair algae? not sure what i should do from here.

Very pretty GHA. Turbo snails will eat it and Emerald green crabs will eat it. So will a lawnmower blenny.

What are your nitrate and phosphate parameters? How much do you feed your tank.
You don't want to get too many snails because if you do and this GHA goes away they will starve, same goes for the crab and the blenny. Whatever you do do it soon so it doesn't take over your tank.

X2, it is GHA, but in order to tell you how to get rid of it, we need to know a few things:

1: Params. Po4, calcium, mag, alk.
2: water source. I need the TDS of the water container and directly from the output source.
3: how old is the system?
4: what rock did you use?
5: what sand did you use?
6: what's the current stock list?
7: how much are you feeding?
8: what kind of equipment are you using?

Answer those and we can tell you what's up.

They'll eat it, but in my tank they won't when it's that long. It would be a good idea to pull what you can with your hands then let them go at it.

I had 4" long GHA on the back wall of my tank and my turbo snails were plowing it down. Tomorrow I'll see if I can dig up some pictures so you can see how bad it was. Trust me they'll eat it.
