typhoon protein skimmer

having problems with a typhoon protien skimmer it is not removing alot of waste and hardly any air bubbles (reason for no waste) anyone else know about these skimmers. Im ready to trash it

Have you cleaned the venturi inlet? It needs to be cleaned every so often to get it to pull air. What about the pump itself? If it is blocked you will get the same thing. Any blockage would result in no air. I clean my venturi by letting it suck in some vinegar from a pippette, but just sticking some in a straw and letting it be pulled into the venturi should work.

Yup i cleaned it out actually broke the skimmer completely down and re taped everything and cleaned it out (set all parts in vinegar for a cpl of hours) re-assembled it and still same problem.

Is the little black thing on the end of the air line open?

yes the air valve is wide open and also the pump is wide open there is nothing blocking it

Is it possible to put the venturi in backwards? If so maybe that is the problem.
