i have a green with purple rim too... but doesnt everyone? LOL jk

their purple color seemd to be highly dependant on the dKH of the water... too high and it fades out... mine has been under VHO's for a while since the 30's been under construction, but cant wait for it to go back to the real colors

I don't believe that everyone does have a purple rim. Not judging from the number of PMs that I have received and the number of frags that I have sent out.

I've had mine for a few months now and the green has turned tan. Has this happened to anyone else's? I have 20k 400W halides without any other lighting.

I actually kind of like the tan/purple rim combo, but am still curious if this is happening to any of the other frags.

I originally had it on the bottom of the tank and have moved it half way up a few weeks ago.

My tank is 24" deep and the halides are about 8" off the water, so right now, it's probably within 20" of the halides.
