Very cool picture. What's an HDR again? Isn't it a mix of the same picture or something?

cheers - yeah, HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. Basically it is a composite of several differently exposed images (3 in this case). This method allows both shadow and highlight detail to be retained. This was crucial for this particular shot as the sun was behind the clouds behind the boat, so the side of the boat facing me was slightly shaded. I wanted detail in the sky as well as the side of the boat.

I would love to get a bit closer but unfortunately the area is restricted. I took the multiple exposures handheld through a fence actually.
